Tk::Dirselect problem

Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi, I'm using Tk::Dirselect to browse for a directory. While I rewrote it to use a drop-down list for the drives instead of the original buttons, I discovered a problem: When you give it a "-dir=>$startdir" for the initial directory, you do see that directory in the DirTree, but you see no surrounding directories. Even a doubleclick on the root directory doesn't reveal more directories, you have to click on the button of the drive to see everything. IMHO that is no standard browsing behaviour, but I can't find where to change it. Do there any other modules exist for directory selection, where I can give a startdirectory as parameter? Windows Look and Feel is preferred, since the end-users are on that platform. (the one from Win32::FileOp looks great, but doesn't have a directory option) Lars

You can try using Tk::FileSelect. Re: using Tk::FileSelect provides some details on how to configure the widget to look for files or directories. «Rich36»	[reply]

I already took a look at Tk::Fileselect (it was the first one I tried). But it fit's the specs not very good: it shows also files (I just need dirs), and it also doesn't have a drive selection, besides, it looks very unix'ish again ;) Lars	[reply]

While you may not like the style since it's "unix'ish", Tk::DirTree allows you to just select directories. It shows the directory structures as a tree (folders/subfolders). Doesn't show files either. «Rich36»	[reply]
