XP means nothing when it comes to Perl skills. It simply means that people agree or disagree with what you posted.

As one who just achieved Saint status, I freely admit I am not a guru. I am working on it, but I have a long ways to go!

++ for you, too, as you got exactly the point of my post. The very nature of Perl to be like natural language--inconsistant and full of dwim and special cases--makes it impossible to know it all without simply memorizing the documentation (which is not complete or totally correct anyway). --John M.
