in reply to perlmonks.org in frameset - not logged in
It's a cookie 'issue'. I put issue in quotes, because it is the expected behaviour of cookies. It is because when you login to perlmonks, the cookie will only be set (and _can_ only be set) to the domain that you were visting when you logged in. So, the cookie will only be set for one of the following domains (I think I nailed the complete list of possibilities):
perlmonks.org, www.perlmonks.org, perlmonks.net, www.perlmonks.net, perlmonks.com, www.perlmonks.com, ads.perlmonks.org, ads.perlmonks.net, ads.perlmonks.com, 66.39.54.27, 209.197.123.153, perlmonks.pair.com
Basically, I'm guessing that you most likely logged into www.perlmonks.(org|net|com) and the links on your Newest Nodes page point to perlmonks.(org|net|com), which browsers will see as a different domain, so it will not send your login cookie. Two ways to fix it: One, use the same domain name for logging in and pointing URIs to, or if this page will be a private one (where only you have access), you can pass "&op=login&user=Jaap&passwd=xxxxx" in the query string as well. The latter will log you in to any (perlmonks) domain that the URI points to.

If you do not inform me as to why the post deserved a downvote, your vote does not have any significance and will be disregarded.
