I thought I'd browse the menu links (you never know). I found that the awards page hasn't been updated since 2000, and the Quests node hasn't been touched since 2001. Wouldn't it be a good idea to 'archive' these off somewhere other than the home page? Either that or somebody update them!

Oh, my. An awards page. How 1995-ish.

    Abigail

And the 2002 "Most Bluntly Delivered Informed Opinion" goes to...hmmmm.

      ;)

And the 2002 "Most Bluntly Delivered Informed Opinion" goes to...hmmmm.
And the 2004 "Wrong year" award goes to.. ;)

        Makeshifts last the longest.

Didn't vroom win an award, something like the white camel, for PM? Shouldn't that be there?

Well awards is at worst harmless and kind of fun. Quests looks like it could actually stand to be revived---after all it's just a small matter of time(tm)...

    Awards ... hmmm ....

This makes me think that maybe it should be revived, but we should use it for our own 'Monkees': the PerlMonk version of the Oscars.

We start by someone (I'm willing) taking nomination in free-text for a variety of awards (maybe we start by receiving nominations for awards!). Then once the nominations are in, the top 5 or 6 nominees are put into a poll for voting. Results are secret until the official 'Monkees' night when they're revealed on the Awards page.

You could be this years "Most cutting response to a newbie" or "Best wrong answer to an easy question" or (more seriously) "Most helpful monk", "Best chatterbox participant" and of course "Highest rated post of the year"
