A good Google might do you wonders as I've seen a few articles on this subject floating about, but the only one that comes to hand immediately is The Phrasebook Design Pattern which demonstrates the use of Class::Phrasebook (alt.).

     Thanks that appears to be a perfect solution.

     It addresses all the areas that I've thought were going to be problematic, and appears to have had a lot of real world use too!

    The SQL part does not use SQL placeholders. I believe this kind of coding practice should not be promoted.
