Exporter::Tidy

The module originally called Exporter::Dream has been released as Exporter::Tidy today. (Version: 0.05)

Since the post here, quite some things have changed, but I didn't bother to put them in the Changes file, since it is the first CPAN release.

Speedup: I tried hard to remove scope where possible
Speedup: Loading Carp is now delayed until it is actually needed
Speedup: strict is no longer used
Speedup: Default import hardcoded (thanks: scrottie)
Compatibility improvement: Made it work with 5.005 (and possibly older versions too)
Change: The name changed (thanks: Aristotle)
Documentation updates
Tests suite

Exporter::Tidy is smaller than Exporter, but supports the Exporter::Heavy features (export tags, exporting of non-subs) out of the box.
Exporter::Tidy is faster than Exporter::Heavy.

Maybe you could have an Exporter::Tidy::Compat as a drop in replacement to translate the Exporter interface to the Exporter::Tidy one? Should Exporter::Tidy ever become the standard exporter, Exporter could then become a stub to load Exporter::Tidy::Compat. Makeshifts last the longest.	[reply]
