Sorry. Misread your original message. For dates you might want to look at Date::Format and the various Date::Language modules.

Thanks again for the reply. I also found picu but that seems long dead. Sad, because that's exactly the functionality I was looking for. I think the short answer to my original question is "you can't" - it doesn't seem to exist for perl ATM :(	[reply]
