Did you try explicitly setting multipart/mixed?

The docs seem to imply that's what the "attach to singlepart" hack does, anyways.

I'll try doing that, but why would it work in the debugger and not when just running the program? So, you think I should follow the Create a multi-part message example instead of the Attach a GIF to a text message example?
