RE: Copyrights (Re: Perl Monks Cookbook?)

Unless I missed it, I didn't see anything on this site saying my words are suddenly free for all to copy and print and make money with. I certainly wouldn't allow that if I didn't get fair royalties (try splitting royalties between dozens of people) seeing as how I was not informed that my text on this site is public domain. I may be in a minority on this and not have the popular opinion, but vroom should have something on the site saying who owns what is posted here.

I agree with you KM, unless it says otherwise it would be nice to know you own your own words. However, I don't know if you are in the minority or not (probably not). I was trying to say that for me, I only want the most basic rights (such as acknowledgement), but no monetary compensation for them. Anyway, it is a hairy issue, but at the very least it would seem possible to organize an online book that used perlmonks content and was available at perlmonks (all for free access of course). Anyway, it is a hairy issue, but at the very least it would seem possible to organize an online book that used perlmonks content and was available at perlmonks (all for free access of course). Not that this wouldn't require alot of effort.
