Good Morning Monks. It's a beautiful spring day here in Indiana. I plan to get out and enjoy it in just a bit. :)

Lately I've been putting a lot of love into Data::FormValidator. A lot of features have been added, and I'd like to get some feedback on this beta release before I send it off to CPAN. If you are not already familiar with D::FV, it helps with the task of validating input forms, commonly on the web, by allowing you to succinctly express the validation logic through an "input profile".

Here's a summary of the major changes and additions since the last stable release I'm interested in feedbacks on:

• Major documentation overhaul. It should now be easier to browse and grok.
• New Feature: New OO interface to processing results.
• New Feature: defaults can be passed to new() that will be used for all forms made from that object.
• New Feature: Generation of error messages is now possible through the new msgs profile key, and a msgs method.
• New Feature: Added ConstraintsFactory.pm module to distribution
• New Feature: Added Data::FormValidator::Constraints::Upload to the distribution.
• New Feature: Added Data::FormValidator::Constraints::Dates to the distribution.
• New Feature: Support for Apache::Request objects as input
• Added documentation for writing your own validation routines.
• New Feature: Added "constraint_method" as an alternative to "constraint" in the hash-based constraint definition. Related to this, there are new accessor methods for use inside of custom constraints:
  • get_input_data();
  • get_current_constraint_field();
  • get_current_constraint_value();

  This whole arrangement brings support for multi-valued constraints with constraint_regexp_map
