I've wasted far too much time scribbling new translations of grooks, but I won't subject you to them all...

But I'm quite pleased with this one, in a slightly different style.
Like the others, it's not so keen on -w... so if anyone's got any suggestions for improvements, please let me know!

$miracle = <<GROOK; THE MIRACLE OF SPRING by Piet Hein (in Grooks, 1966) translated into Perl by osfameron (hakim\@earthling.net) We glibly talk of nature's laws but do things have a natural cause? Black earth turned into yellow crocus is undiluted hocus pocus GROOK # # # we: print GLIBLY $of. $natures {laws}; but: exists $things {'natural cause'} ? s(Black earth) #into (yellow crocus) : $is {undiluted}, $hocus_pocus++; # # # print $miracle if $hocus_pocus;
Cheerio!

    I've got one of Hein's books, and I love the stuff!
    Nice translating you've been doing.

      Thanks!
      I've translated a few more, but I want to make sure that I'm not just splurging them out without any quality control...
      Which of Hein's books do you have? I've only managed to find "Grooks" and "Still More Grooks" in second hand bookshops (and nothing on Amazon).

      Cheerio!

        I know I have one of those two, but I do not remember which. I am at work at the moment, will have to check when I get home. To my knowledge, those are the only two he has done. I could be wrong on that though.
