As far as Perl is concerned, I would first check out the Tutorials on Perl Monks to learn the basics. Once you have some kind of idea about Perl and you know what you want to know, head on over to the Categorized Questions and Answers part of the site. If you need any further explanation, you can post the questions in Seekers of Perl Wisdom.
You can also purchase the book: Learning Perl . I have not read it personally, but I've heard that it is a great source to learn from.
