in reply to Instructor Based Perl Training

I'm not sure if you are just looking for a walk-in sort of setting for just yourself, but our own merlyn offers training. You really don't get much more knowledgable.. in his case the old saying is true: He wrote the book on Perl. More info on his site at http://perl.stonehenge.com/.

You say that you are new to Perl so this may or may not apply, but I will say it for others reading. There are Perl Conferences around the world fairly often. You can get all the details at http://www.yapc.org/.

I'm sure there are other, less-famous training methods and teachers out there that will be better suited for a one-man learning session. However, bang for buck, I have to say, buy the books. Larry, Randal, Damian, they all have great books. They have helped me, hands down, more than any other method. My favorites include:

Learning Perl by Randal L. Schwartz, Tom Phoenix

Programming Perl by Larry Wall, Tom Christiansen, Jon Orwant.

Advanced Perl Programming by Sriram Srinivasan

Object Oriented Perl by Damian Conway
