arden has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hello all.
I'm wanting to write a script to search my drives and write a report on ALL of the media files I have (.avi, .divx, .mpg, .mp3, .au, etc...). What I'm having a bit of trouble with is how do I detemine which video & audio codec a file uses? Is a certain .avi file DivX, XviD, or one of many others? Same with the audio, there are several MP3 codecs out there.
File::Find::Rule::MP3Info will give me some information on MP3 files so I can sort by artist or whatever, but I want to be able to get the CoDecs mainly.

As always, thanks for your help!
-Arden.
