Heidegger has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Holy Monks,

I am trying to make the perl + Apache2 work on Windows. The following Apache httpd.conf directive is using the Apache::Registry.pm module:

# Apache::Registry scripts PerlModule Apache::Registry Alias /perl/ "C:/Apache2/perl/" <Location /perl> Sethandler perl-script PerlHandler Apache::Registry Options +ExecCGI PerlSendHeader On </Location>

This module didn't come with the Apache2 and Perl packages. I tried to install it with ppm program, but it didn't find the needed ppd file on the ppm repository. Also, I have tried to install it with cpan, but after many attepts I failed to do that.

The question is: where can I get the needed module? Would be nice to get it in ppm package.

Thank you.

    Try

    ppm install http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppmpackages/mod_perl.ppd

    What flavour of Windows are you using? The last time I tried, Apache/mod_perl version 2 did not run on Win98 and below.

    There are PPM repositiories out there that have mod_perl on them, both version 1 and 2, you just need to find which one. I know Theoryx5 has them. PPM::Repositories has a list of known PPM repositories, which you can add to your PPM repository list. See here for details of how.
