yosefm has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Is there a module to help me convert a string in UTF8 (Hebrew) to a different coding (say, iso-8859-8)? I really hate this l10n problems.

BTW, anyway I can convince XML::Simple not to return UTF8 text and use my specified encoding instead?

Thanks.

You might want to have a look at Text::Iconv.

BTW, this question has been covered pretty extensively in other threads. Super Search will help you find quite a few of them.

      Thanks, That'll do great!!

Also, note that I'm a new monk so I don't know yet about options like Super Search. Every day one learns something new...

Glad it will help you. As to being new here, everyone knows what that's like, but please do have a look at the node "How to RTFM" by Masem. It's a guide to helping yourself and getting help here at the Monastery. Much broader is jeffa's "How (Not) To Ask A Question". For a much broader look at the Monastery, see turnstep's home node
