The tr///C and tr///U features have been removed and will not return; the interface was a mistake. Sorry about that. For similar functionality, see pack('U0', ...) and pack('C0', ...).
my question is what does that mean. Anybody please give me example of output using tr and also with pack

    I wouldn't worry about it - it was as far as I know never implemented in a stable version of Perl. These flags were an attempt to put unicode support in tr// as I understand it.
