That is true and it would save me alot of time. I guess the next question is what module should I use. I have heard of Net::SSH and Net::SSH::Perl. Is there any suggestions or comments? Which one has less prereqs? Any advantages or disadvantages of either?

Quite simply, Net::SSH::Perl rocks. I use it in a production environment with great success. There are a boatload of prereqs but don't let that put you off and once installed you'll be glad you persevered.
