It's nice you asked us, but did you ask Google or CPAN first? I imagine GD and ImageMagick are the top two.

    Image::Magick is not what I want... as for GD, I'm not sure.

        Maybe I should've said: "I don't think Image::Magick is what I need"...

        Anyway... The impression I got from Image::Magick was that it allows you to manipulate existing graphics with filters only (I could be dead wrong though...)

        what I would like to do is mainly compose jpg's from other jpg's and add text to them.

        But again... don't hesitate to tell me if my knowledge of Image::Magick is not complete...
