I really like ruby alot as well. It's got a great concise design that really lends itself to some slick coding. However if you make perl too much like ruby .. what good is it to have them both around.
Some things are easier in perl, some in ruby. What's the point in making easy perl work hard? I'm just kinda rattlin about it, but I think that adopting another languages object methodology isn't the best idea for the overall growth of a language.
