Heh :) Thank you. Every once in a while, I need to get slapped back into reality. I have come to expect that clients won't give me good information but I'm still expecting myself to give good information in return. You're right. I have to put this burden back on the client. I've preached such things before. I just need eat my own dogfood.

Hi Ovid, thanks for the brainfood you write that I get to read during my lunch break... but... am I just off the planet in this - why hasn't someone mentioned Function Point Counting? http://www.ifpug.org/ It's an industry-recognised metrics technique. Of course it may be that this is a very large sledgehammer for a small nut... but there may be a kernel (sorry) of an approach for you. And yes, this is your client's problem as dws pointed out. It's an industry-recognised metrics technique. Of course it may be that this is a very large sledgehammer for a small nut... but there may be a kernel (sorry) of an approach for you. And yes, this is your client's problem as dws pointed out.
