Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I've upgraded to ActivePerl 5.8.0.804 and am running a script using PerlSax. The script runs far slower than it used to and eventually crashes. I have tracked the problem down to the 'Swatch' code in file utf8_heavy.pl.

I'm guessing the new release of PERL has made changes regarding unicode but I don't know how to resolve the problems encountered. Can anyone help?

There are some good examples in this site for perlxml along with the unicode encodings.
Hope this would provide you with some info.
