That's right! You too can run your own gopher server... with Perl!

While reading the Gopher Manifesto, I stumbled upon the Floodgap gopher server. It turns out that this is no ordinary gopher server though. It is written in Perl and it is called Bucktooth.

Thanks to hardburn for pointing out that Net::Gopher is actively maintained (and getting me looking into gopher again) and to sauoq for pointing out that [gopher://gopher.floodgap.com] doesn't link.

    Um, [gopher://gopher.floodgap.com] links for me. What was the problem before?
      You see the url wrapped in square brackets and not a link to the url.
