I'm familiar with HP's site. I tend to look at the answer first and the little glyph afterwards. And I don't think it's ever influenced me in re-evaluating the usefulness of what I've just read. Most likely, looking at someone with a triple yellow zowie, I'll think "another geek with no life and too much time on his hands" :). The main issue is that only I can determine how useful the answer is, in my context. What works for me may not necessarily work for you. The question has been raised a few times in the past. Bestowing blessings upon monks? is sort of the same thing. The general opinion is that it's not a feature that most people care for. When you read some of the reasons why, perhaps you'll agree. I think a simple reply to answer, with a "Thanks, your answer helped a lot"(or something like that), means more than giving it a special icon, at least to me it does.	[reply]

Perlmonks is a community where the status of the question ( satisfactory or not) is determined by the community members as a whole and not just the original poster. The advantage of this approach is that not just the OP but the entire community benefits. Members add better approach/methods wherever it is possible to the extent that they fill satisfactory. Questions doesn't go unanswered here and OP can always ask more in reply to the answers already given or make comments to enhance the question/answer further. artist	[reply]

To me, the best indicator of a question's worth is the title. For that reason, I oppose nearly all title change proposals in Nodes To Consider. The exceptions are those which conflict with module names and other perl docs. After Compline, Zaxo	[reply]

They didn't mention any way to indicate a questions worth. They said "status" as in, has someone proposed an answer that works. I think it would be nice because it might encourage to OP to come back and mark the answer that helped most, or post the answer they ended up useing. Its always frustrating to find a node with a similar question but that went unanswered (although you know the OP must have gotten something to work.)
