You mean the "=head1", "=cut" and the comments inbetween? Those are POD (Plain Old Documentation) commands. Perl ignores them. See the perlpod documentation for details. C.	[reply]

Here is a tip, whenever you are wondering about something perl, try `perldoc perltoc', like `$$ perldoc perltoc \|perl -ne'die $.,$/,$_ if /=head/' 6456 empty =headn, =over on line N without closing =back, =it +em` [download] Isn't it magic?	[reply] [d/l]
