I havent been on a few days, so don't know if something has been changed, or if a bug has snuck in, but..

When viewing the message inbox in either the top of the CB nodelet, or on Fullpage chat, I now see new messages at the top, even if there are more than would be usually displayed (which is not that bad), disconcerting is the fact that the text at the bottom "Plus X more, Y archived", claims there are more than I am seeing, which there aren't (they're being shown).

(Hmm, I wonder if that makes any sense.. ,)

The only setting I changed recently was turning on 'Newest Messages first' in user settings, but that was a week or so ago..

    Could you be a bit more vague? (: Perhaps instead of just replacing the numbers with "X" and "Y" you could say "Plus ..." next time. By no means give any concrete details. But more seriously...

    Are there more or aren't there?

    In other words, I can't reconstruct what the problem you are trying to describe is.

    I'll take a wild guess that you thought "newest first" would change the order in which messages are displayed but not which of your unarchived messages are displayed. But, in fact, "newest first" also means "show the newest 10 (by default) instead of the oldest 10" in this new order. We could add another setting to allow separate control of order vs. whether to hide older/newer, but we haven't (and I have no plans to at this point). Or perhaps a documentation update is in order.

    If my wild guess is wrong, then I need you to give me some hard details (how many messages you have, which ones display, exact text used in the link to the Message Inbox, exactly what you expected to be different, how you have "max (messages) to display" set, etc.), probably for multiple cases.

      Ok, so turning on Newest first means it shows the newest 10, and not just the others resorted.. Which makes kinda sense I guess.

      *looks at it again* - Ah, and the rest of the previous visible messages get shoved off the bottom, and thats why I'm getting a 'Plus .. more' message. I thought it meant I have other new messages.. Must have been half asleep yesterday not to see that.. Your guess was correct.

      (I thought I was seeing more than the 10 messages I usually see, *and* a message that there were more.. hohum..)
