in thread DBD::Sybase - I'm having trouble installing it

I've tried the steps in the links you provided over and over. And, unfortunately for me, I'm not able to figure out what I'm doing wrong. The links you suggested are the same ones I have been trying (plus some other's, like crazy's 5.8 ppm page). Perhaps I'm trying them in the wrong order... Maybe I don't understand the way something is written. I don't know. :-(
Seeing how you're having trouble following those steps (which i'm sure work, as I and others have tried them), you should definetly show us (the gory details of) what you're doing.

It's easy to miss something when you're new (even when you're not). Learning How to RTFM (excellent tutorial btw) does not take a lot of time, but learning/understanding what you Read in The FM can a long time.

I'd also like to point out that the F in "RTFM" is what you make of it ;) If you want the F to mean friendly or something else, it's your prerogative (i prefer Friendly, cause perl manuals just are).

MJD says "you can't just make shit up and expect the computer to know what you mean, retardo!"
I run a Win32 PPM repository for perl 5.6.x and 5.8.x -- I take requests (README).
** The third rule of perl club is a statement of fact: pod is sexy.

You're right. One of the things I was missing was understanding the difference between CPAN and CPAN.pm. I thought they were an old married couple or something...Limbic~Region set me on the path to knowledge about that.

The other thing I just couldn't see (you know, the forest for the trees type of thing) was creating a new repository and pointing it to crazy's ppm store. I even remember seeing something about creating a new repository but for some JOHNBROWNIT reason, I just didn't connect it all together as a possible solution. (Actually, at one point I added a new repository but didn't point it correctly - which in turn made me think adding a repository wasn't a solution for my particular case).

    Thanks for you help!
