Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Does anyone know if it's possible to retrieve the firmware version or even the sysdscript from a device using the Net::SNMP module?

    It depends on the device. You'd have to look at the SNMP MIB for the device (or class of devices) you're querying.
