I was aproximating a bit, and, considering the fact that 80386 was out in 1985, I was not too far from the truth. :) References are here, here, and here.

    Wow, a bit earlier than I thought. I was thinking something like '89 or so.. considering the IBM-PC saw the market in '83, and the PC-XT and PC-AT had very long life cycles compared to modern computer generations.

    Makeshifts last the longest.
