    select name from sysobjects where xtype = 'U'

    For the sake of portability it might also be useful to note that ANSI SQL-92 provides a standard for querying table schema information:

    select TABLE_NAME from INFORMATION_SCHEMA.TABLES

    What the heck? The exact same question, posted yesterday, probably by the exact same Anonymous Monk, is still on the first screen of SoPW. And it's been answered 5 times already!

    What the hell are we answering this guy's question for if he is not even reading the replies. And why do we keep approving his re-posts?
