...at the top of The Monastery Gates when they first come to the site. Not to mention that there's an Information nodelet, containing links to "PerlMonks FAQ" and "Guide to the Monastery" among other things.

(Every now and then people who have customized their user experience forget what the experience is like for new users. some stuff seems easier to find, other stuff seems harder. I think the concept of an "About Perlmonks" or "FAQ" page is pretty well covered for new visitors here.)
