Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

How would i go about making a text buffer sort of thing, like what they have in vi, where you can type commands in at the bottom?

    IO is buffered by default in perl, but I don't think that's what you're really asking. See Term::Readline and Curses for advice on putting together fancy terminals.

    Perhaps you should begin by learning how to program with the curses library (if you are on a unix machine).

    There are CPAN modules for using curses with Perl. You can have a look at Curses and Curses::UI on CPAN.
