Yeah, but even with my "finely tuned English ear" I can barely
make out words spoken by festival, let alone having it try to speak in a correct German dialect. They wouldn't know what
I was trying to say. :-)

Just sell it in the US. I went to a german class at the UoC in Berkley once, and couldn't even understand the horrible accent the professor had. They wouldn't know the difference ;)
Besides that, if you tweak the imput to festival, you can even make it speak Dutch (albeit somewhat awkward. It took me a while, but festival spoke quite audible Dutch ;)
