I'm still not certain they were copyright violations.
Uh, how much more proof do you need than me saying "yes, they are copyright violations". It's my material being pirated. It's being done without my permission, or the permission of O'Reilly (which I would have had to give them to have this be possible).

And yes, O'Reilly googles from time to time, and then begins the legal process, but it can take weeks or months to remove such sites.

So, in case it's still not clear: YES, "LEARNING PERL" IS COPYRIGHTED. "LEARNING PERL OBJECTS REFERENCES AND MODULES" IS COPYRIGHTED. "LEARNING PERL FOR WIN32" IS COPYRIGHTED. WEB SITES THAT MAKE THESE BOOKS AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC WITHOUT RESTRICTION ARE IN VIOLATION OF THAT WORLDWIDE COPYRIGHT.

    Understood?

Just because you say it is does not make it so. How can "copyright violations" exist in countries which don't have "copyright protection"?
