I'm just a casual observer of Perl6 and parrot development; but isn't it one of the stated goals of parrot to be the underlying engine for Perl and Python, and possibly other languages? That
should make translating easy.
Or more probably, simply unnecessary. (Indeed, Parrot is intended to run a lot more than Perl - not just Python, also Ruby and many (if not most) other "agile" languages.)
