Today is the 16th anniversary of the release of perl version 1. Happy Birthday, Perl!

In honor of the day, Richard Clamp has released an updated perl1 with support for gcc version 3. Find it on cpan or at http://unixbeard.net/~richardc/perl-1.0_16.tar.gz.

And if you don't know what to give, try money. (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, PayPal)

I just donated. Now you do too, if you haven't already done so. Minimum donation is $1 - you do have $1, don't you?

    Perl is like Pink Floyd.
It was a long time since it's birth, but it remains actual, with the same brilliant atmosphere and beauty sorrounding it's essence.
It's a gift for the past, the present, and the future.
I have to admit, it took me years to adapt to the post-Waters Pink Floyd, and even so, Amused To Death is better than anything those other guys have done. I hope I'm quicker to get used to perl6.
