Easy things? Hmm. At least at work, that would perhaps be code-standardization. Using Perl, we've been able to take the same basic scripts and (custom) module and use it on both Windows and Unix platforms instead of having a mish-mash of Korn shell scripts, Perl, Windows .bat scripts and so forth. The scripts still have a long way to go before I'd consider them platform independent, but I'm trying (slowly). It also makes it easier for my team members who only have to worry about one scripting format on either platform.
