Strongly advised to me means it's advice as to which languages would make it easier. Not which languages will receive a better grade.

"Strongly advise", coming from a professor, means the same thing as "good for your grade". Sometimes just "advise" means that, even without "strongly". If you keep telling yourself otherwise, you'll be graded down again in the future by other professors.
