It looks like you could create your entire playfield as a big Tk::Photo widget. There's get/set/copy primitives for pixels there. Dunno how efficient it would be though. For dynamic objects, look at Tk::Animation.

    Appears to still be for relatively static purposes though. Tk::Animation is a chain of Tk::Photos, hence again not anything close to the old pseudo-MODE13H-esque hacking Zen I'm trying to achieve. Maybe that *does* lead me back down the evil X11 path.
