Well, -n doesn't print, but -p does print :)
$ perl -le " print qq{a;b;c;d} " a;b;c;d $ perl -le " print qq{a;b;c;d} " | perl -ne " tr/;/\n/ ; " $ perl -le " print qq{a;b;c;d} " | perl -pe " tr/;/\n/ ; " a b c d
