"2", too, is not a number; see https://rt.cpan.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=80423. SQL'Parser seems to be unsuitable to drive even moderately complex queries.
Perhaps look for some other Excel file handling module that avoids SQL'Statement set of modules?.
