Hmmm,

Maybe it's me, but perl -MCPAN -e 'install "File::Stat"' works for me, however perl -MCPAN -e 'install "File::stat"' doesn't. Have you tried the workarounds that CPAN shell suggests i.e. use the force flag ?

A user level that continues to overstate my experience :-))
