I was mistaken above. Apparently PowerPoint might not have this function, but Excel does.

Here are some instructions, I hope this will work for you. In Office 2007 Excel, enable the Developer tab on the ribbon in the Excel or PowerPoint settings, see this description on MSDN. This will add an extra tab on the ribbon bar. On that extra tab, in Excel, you will find a button to record a macro (in Visual Basic language), and a Macros button that lets you review existing macros. That's all.
