A little bit offtopic: Seeing this question let me ask whether your problem at Child process opened using open function works fine but doesn't work with open2 function is now solved for you? It seems you collect the output of the powershell into a log file while feeding powershell via pipe. Does that mean the question mentioned above is solved for you?
