did you check the logs? What kind of diagnostic messages did you get? When you turned on debugging/logging/verbosity?

A lot of what applies to task schedule also applies to crontab, see Re^3: DBD::mysql fail install check (crontab debugging troubleshooting DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH ldd otool ...)
