I really regret that there seems to be no way to communicate about social issues on Perlmonks without it turning into a personal issue. Your response seems meant to attack me personally for speaking, as if my mentioning something I have experienced was somehow threatening to you.
If you wish to discuss how Perlmonks could somehow in the future devise ways to consider the needs and desires of both the majority and the minority, then I'll be happy to talk to you about that, as that was the point of my post.
I am not sure what caused this seeming personal animus you have toward me, but perhaps we could consider a detente. I have refrained from commenting on your posts that were not addressed to me when I could not find anything positive to say - and I have said positive things, and upvoted you when you said something good and useful; if you would be willing to do the same, perhaps we could improve our interaction?
I'm willing to forget about this whole thing if you are, and let you say what you want without stepping on you if you're willing to do the same. Note that I'm not volunteering to shut up, just to not antagonize you.
Last, about the management/labor situation - the majority was economic, rather than numerical. I had hoped that was clear, but apparently it wasn't. My apologies for not being more explicit.
