Building on flexvault's response above -- are you trying to install this on the system Perl? If so, DON'T. You will either bind your application to the vendor's upgrade whims, damage the system expectations as to what is in its Perl environment, or both.

Instead, build a separate Perl that you use for your application(s). Then you control your own destiny.
