I am interested in this post. After all, what is the benefit of using 64 bit Perl vs 32 bit Perl? Obviously it should be able to address a larger amount of memory. But when is that useful? For me... probably never. But since you're doing SAN management, maybe you can break the 4GB boundary. If it is a matter of stability... I understand.
