Anyone want to give a quick overview of how arrays and strings are implemented in Perl? What data structures, etc?
All the gory details are here perlman:perlguts. It's all in C to me. As well as this you can always RTFS - if you're into that sort of masochism - as the Perl source code is freely available :-)
