Hello,
I will work on a web project (around 150 concurrent users). I am a Perl beginner. My background is Unix, Shell Scripts and Python. I have just read the Learning Perl book and started reading Intermediate Perl book (and Programming Perl in parallel).
I have chosen Apache mod_perl 2 for this project. I will use the OS packages for Centos 6.5: Perl 5.10.1, Apache 2.2, mod_perl 2.0.4. But I'm not sure if I should to go to CGI.pm under ModPerl::Registry or Perl Handlers. My main worry is about documentation and debugging. I would prefer to create Apache handlers. But I think the documentation for mod_perl is old, except for one book (mod_perl 2 User's Guide) and the docs from Apache web site.
In another direction, I found a lot of documentation regards CGI.pm. And run it under Apache Registry is easy.
Please, I don't want to make comparisons with the new frameworks. I just want to hear opinions from someone about mod_perl and CGI. Any help would be appreciated.
Best Brazilian Regards
